BRAVE SUNDER LAL
Sunderlal was a little boy like you. He belonged to a small village in Gujarat. His father was the Incharge of a level crossing. One day, Sunder was walking along the railway track when it began to rain heavily. Soon it began to thunder. When there was a flash of lightning he saw a boulder on the track. Sunder knew that a train was to pass on that track shortly. He ran to his father for help. Sunder’s father in turn ran to the nearest railway station to inform them.
सुंदरलाल आप जैसा एक छोटा लड़का था। वह गुजरात के एक छोटे से गाँव से था। उसके पिता लेवल क्रॉसिंग के इंचार्ज थे। एक दिन, सुंदर रेलवे ट्रैक के किनारे टहल रहा था जब भारी बारिश होने लगी। जल्द ही गड़गड़ाहट शुरू हो गई। जब बिजली का एक फ्लैश आया तो उसने ट्रैक पर एक बड़ा पत्थर देखा। सुंदर को पता था कि कुछ ही देर में एक ट्रेन उस ट्रैक से गुजरने वाली थी। वह मदद के लिए अपने पिता के पास गया। बदले में सुंदर के पिता उन्हें सूचित करने के लिए निकटतम रेलवे स्टेशन की ओर भागे।
Suddenly Sunder heard the whistle of the train. He could see a passenger train fast approaching to his side. He was sure that if he didn’t do anything the train would surely meet with an accident. He turned around to see if his father was coming. His father was not to be seen. Sunder said to himself, “I can not wait for my father. I must do something to save the lives of the passengers.” He saw a lighted lamp in his father’s cabin. He ran as fast as he could. He picked up the lamp from the cabin and ran back. He stood on the track and held the lamp, signaling the driver to stop the train. “Stop! Stop!”Sunder shouted. The driver of the train was very alert. He noticed the light. He stopped the train. All the passengers got down and thanked Sunder for saving their lives.
अचानक सुंदर ने ट्रेन की सीटी सुनी। वह एक यात्री ट्रेन को तेजी से अपनी तरफ आता देख सकता था। उन्हें यकीन था कि अगर वह कुछ नहीं करेगा तो ट्रेन का निश्चित रूप से दुर्घटनाग्रस्त हो जायेगा। वह यह देखने के लिए इधर-उधर गया कि क्या उसके पिता आ रहे हैं। उसके पिता दिख नहीं रहे थे। सुंदर ने खुद से कहा, “मैं अपने पिता की प्रतीक्षा नहीं कर सकता। मुझे यात्रियों की जान बचाने के लिए कुछ करना चाहिए।” उसने अपने पिता के केबिन में एक रोशनदान देखा। वह जितनी तेजी से भाग सकता था वह भागा। उसने केबिन से दीपक उठाया और वापस भागा। वह ट्रैक पर खड़ा था और दीपक को पकड़कर चालक को ट्रेन रोकने का इशारा किया। "रुको! रुको! ”सुंदर चिल्लाया। ट्रेन का ड्राइवर बहुत सतर्क था। उसने प्रकाश को देखा। उसने ट्रेन रोक दी। सभी यात्रियों ने नीचे उतरकर अपनी जान बचाने के लिए सुंदर को धन्यवाद दिया।
