Once there was a shoemaker. He became so poor that he had nothing left to run his family but only enough leather for just one pair of shoes. So, in the evening, he cut out the leather with great care to make the shoes. But he was so disappointed that he left his work on the table to finish in the morning. He was almost in tears. Before he fell asleep, he prayed to God and asked to help him.

एक बार एक जूता बनाने वाला था। वह इतना गरीब हो गया कि उसके पास अपने परिवार को चलाने के लिए कुछ भी नहीं बचा था, लेकिन सिर्फ एक जोड़ी जूते के लिए उसके पास पर्याप्त चमड़ा था। इसलिए, शाम को, उसने जूते बनाने के लिए चमड़े को बड़ी सावधानी से काटा। लेकिन वह इतना निराश था कि उसने सुबह खत्म होने के लिए टेबल पर अपना काम छोड़ दिया। वह लगभग आँसूओं में था। इससे पहले कि वह सो जाता, उसने परमेश्वर से प्रार्थना की और उसकी मदद करने के लिए कहा।

In the morning, he found a wonderful pair of shoes on his table. He was surprised. He took the shoes in his hands and looked at them closely. They were so neatly made that there was not even one bad stitch on them. The pair of shoes was, indeed a masterpiece.

सुबह, उसे अपनी मेज पर जूते का एक अद्भुत जोड़ा मिला। वह हैरान था। उसने जूते अपने हाथों में लिए और उन्हें करीब से देखा। वे इतने करीने से बनाए गए थे कि उन पर एक भी बुरी सिलाई नहीं थी। जूते की जोड़ी वास्तव में एक उत्कृष्ट कृति थी।

Soon after, a customer came into the shop. He liked the shoes and paid more than the usual price. Now, the shoemaker was very happy as he had enough money to buy leather for two pairs of shoes.

That night, he cut out the leather, and the next morning, he found two pairs of beautifully finished shoes. This continued for many nights.

उस रात, उसने चमड़े को काट दिया और अगली सुबह, उसे दो जोड़ी सुंदर जूते मिले। ऐसा कई रातों तक चलता रहा।

Any leather that he cut out in the evening, was beautifully finished by the morning. Soon, the shoe maker became rich.

जो भी चमड़ा वह शाम को काटता, वह सुबह तक खूबसूरती से खत्म हो जाता था। जल्द ही, जूता बनाने वाला अमीर हो गया।

One evening, the man said to his wife, “Let's stay up tonight to see who is helping us.” The woman liked the idea. She lighted a candle. The room was lit by the candle flame. Then they hid themselves in a corner of the room, behind the curtain.

एक शाम, उस व्यक्ति ने अपनी पत्नी से कहा, "चलो आज रात को यह देखने के लिए यहीं रुकते हैं कि हमारी मदद कौन कर रहा है।" महिला को योजना पसंद आई। उसने मोमबत्ती बुझा दी। मोमबत्ती की लौ से कमरा जगमगा उठा। फिर खुद कमरे के एक कोने में, पर्दे के पीछे छिप गये।

At midnight, two little elves came dancing into the room. Both were wearing old and torn clothes. They sat down at the shoemaker's table. They began to stitch, sew, and hammer so skilfully that the shoemaker was surprised. The elves finished the work and ran away.

आधी रात को, कमरे में नाचते हुए दो छोटे बच्चे आए। दोनों ने पुराने और फटे कपड़े पहने हुए थे। वे जूता बनाने वाले की मेज पर बैठ गए। उन्होंने सिलाई, टांका और हथौड़ा इतनी कुशलता से लगाना शुरू किया कि जूता बनाने वाला हैरान रह गया। कल्पित बौनों ने काम खत्म किया और भाग गए।

The woman said, “Those little men have made us rich. We should show our gratitude to them for their selfless service. I will make little shirts, coats, vests, trousers, and a pair of socks for them.” “Ok, then I will make two little pairs of shoes for them.” said the shoemaker.

महिला ने कहा, “उन छोटे लोगों ने हमें अमीर बना दिया है। हमें उनकी निस्वार्थ सेवा के लिए उनके प्रति अपना आभार प्रकट करना चाहिए। मैं उनके लिए छोटी शर्ट, कोट, बनियान, पतलून और मोजे की एक जोड़ी बनाऊंगी। ” "ठीक है, तो मैं उनके लिए दो छोटे जोड़े जूते बनाऊंगा।" जूता बनाने वाले ने कहा।

When everything was ready, they laid their presents on the table and hid themselves. At midnight, the elves came in. They were delighted to and the gifts. Both the elves dressed themselves in the new clothes. Then, they danced and sang happily-

जब सब कुछ तैयार हो गया, तो उन्होंने अपने पर्चे टेबल पर रखे और खुद को छुपा लिया। आधी रात को, कल्पित बौने आए।वे और उपहार के लिए खुश थे। दोनों कल्पित बौनों ने नए कपड़े पहने। फिर, उन्होंने नृत्य किया और खुशी से गाया-

                                    ‘Now we are so fine to see, 

                              Graceful, cheerful, and thankful are we.’

                                    ‘अब हम देखने में बहुत अच्छे हैं, 

                                   सुंदर, हंसमुख और आभारी हैं हम। '

They danced out of the doors and did not come anymore and the shoe maker lived happily forever.

उन्होंने दरवाजे के बाहर नृत्य किया और कभी नहीं आये और जूता बनाने वाला हमेशा के लिए खुशी से रहने लगा।
